Community Stewardship

What do you do to care for those around you?  Do you feel any responsibility or care for the people in your community but not in your immediate family?  When you serve others, how do you feel?

We watched a short video about an amazing man, Will Allen, and his organization Growing Power that brings georgic principles, fresh and healthy food, work ethic, and joy to now multiple inner city communities.  Then we tied a baby quilt and talked about Community Stewardship and service.  It was great to hear about some of the things you all do!  And I'm looking forward to reading your papers about Community Stewardship and what that really means to you.

How is Keeper of the Bees coming?  It is a long book, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it (I admit, I'm not quite done yet, as I'm writing this).  If you're struggling through parts of it (there are lots of long descriptions of flowers and scenery and other things, she really loved nature!), try to think about Georgic Principles that you find with Jamie, the Bee Keeper, Little Scout, and the other characters... good and bad.  Please come ready to tell us about some examples you found!

And make your connections, then jot them down!  I've made a couple this week that I'll share with you Thursday.

Oh, and I have something fun I want you to do... but it's a secret.  I'll share it with you Thursday.  Think superheroes!  I know Noah is good at that!
