Did you enjoy learning a bit of a new skill? Anyone go buy some yarn and start on a project? I didn't teach you to cast on, but YouTube is fantastic and there are LOTS of books at the library. Some of you might even have a family member who could show you how. If you make something, be sure to bring it to class and show it off! Even if you start with simple cotton kitchen wash cloths (i.e. a knitted rectangle), I'd love to see them. And really, knitted cotton dish cloths are the BEST for scrubbing dishes and wiping up counters. I love mine and I just gave a couple to a friend, today. Learning can be a little stressful, but once you have it down, it's relaxing, fun, and a great way to create items for gifts and your home. Work and Joy!!!
How are your gardens growing? I won't call you all Mary, Mary, like the nursery rhyme. I'm sure you're not all that contrary. ;) I have a surprise for you tomorrow... a livestock surprise... sort of. Are you excited? Can you guess what we'll be doing?
How's Old Yeller coming? Are you finding the Georgic themes and principles? Any great quotes or inspiration? Keep looking for them, I'm excited to hear how you're changed by this book. I kept thinking, "He was only 14 and can do so many things I can't. I need to get my fanny in gear and gain skills!" Our book discussion is on Nov 5th, so you still have a little time, if you haven't started yet. If you blasted through it but didn't write/annotate any of it, you have time to go back and do that, too.
Noah, you have the next presentation, but that's also not until Nov 5th.
I'm super excited for class tomorrow! I bought something today I've NEVER bought before. And there will be some power tools involved. Yay!
